Hilarious camoes and pop culture references, fantastic animation, a heartfelt and intelligent story all combine in this great animated movie that is the best movie of 2014 so far.

The LEGO Movie is about Emmet (voice of Chris Pratt). He lives in the city. And every morning following the instruction booklet, he turns on the TV and watches President Business (voice of Will Ferrel), who says there will be a Taco Tuesday. And follow the rules or be put to sleep. He then drives to his construction work while listening to “Everything is Awesome”, the popular pop song. At work, everyone …

Inside Llewyn Davis Review

Inside Llewyn Davis is a great slow character music drama. It has fantastic performances, excellent music and terrific cinematography.

Inside Llewyn Davis follows Llewyn Davis (Oscar Issac), who is a down on his luck folk song singer in New York City in 1961. He is not very successful, but occasionally plays at the Gaslight Cafe. Inside Llewyn Davis is about several days in his life. Anchorman 2 opens as …

The only month that looks like it will not have that much to offer is January, which is not surprising. That is normally not a good month and used for cheap horror and limited release expansions from 2013 movies. Besides that, the other months all have promising movies.

February

The Monuments Men, which was delayed from 2013 for effects work, is about a platoon in WW2 who retrieved art paintings before they were destroyed.  It has a big cast, looks very good and releases …

American Hustle Review

American Hustle is fantastic. It’s fun and fast paced. It also has one of the strongest ensemble casts of 2013 and has a great direction style.  Then, it has one of the best soundtracks of the year and some of the best wigs and costumes.

American Hustle opens with the old studio logos followed by text that reads “some of this actually happened”. It opens with Irving Rosenfeld  (Christan Bale) fixing his hair and going to check on the current state of ABSCAM. He goes to the control room where he watches the tape and Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) walks in …
