Movie Review Ninja

If you are under 8, you will like this movie. For everyone else, it is way too long with far too many “smurf” jokes. And if your an adult, this movie will trash any fond memories you have of the little blue people. I left this movie very disappointed and feeling the color of the smurfs (sad and queasy) . The Smurfs movie stars a bunch of human tv stars, Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Jamaya Mays (Glee) . To summarize the plot , the Smurfs are getting ready for some big festival and Gargamel (an over the top evil guy) comes and trashes the Smurfs perfect little village. Some of the Smurfs escape though a portal that follows a bunch of impending doom signs (they don’t care because this is a kid’s movie).  The portal leads to NYC and the Smurfs find the human stars. Since this is kids movie, none of the characters are going to get hurt except the villian Gargamel who gets hurts in very silly, comical ways

The Smurfs is not very funny and the second half of the movie drags as it follows the same old overused plot line:  a character gets captured , the other  characters disobey his wishes and try to rescue him. The Smurfs does not do that any better than any other movie. Warning : if you see this movie be prepared to hear lots of smurf this, smurf that and the word smurf intead of swear words and descriptive words. The Smurfs is so smurfin bad, I almost smurfed. The Smurfs is rated PG for  some mild rude humor and action.

Due to the Smurfs suprise box office sucess (huh why did this do sowell?) Sony Pictures has announced the Smurfs2.
(Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!) . The Smurfs 2 will probaly not be any better though. The Smurfs movie comes out on DVD on  December 2, but unless somebody else is paying for it do not even rent it from redbox. The Smurfs get a smurfin c-.
