Sherlock Holmes : A Game of Shadows Review

Posted in On DVD by - January 08, 2012

If you like action comedy, then Sherlock Holmes : A Game of Shadows is for you. It stars Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes, Jude Law as his sidekick Watson, Naoomi Rapace as Madam Simza Heron, Jared Harris as Professor James Moriarty and Stephen Fry as Sherlock’s brother Mycroft Holmes.

Sherlock Holmes : A Game of Shadows is about Sherlock Holmes and Watson trying to stop James Moriarty, who is attempting to start World War 1 by getting the European countries to start fighting each other.

Sherlock Holmes : A Game of Shadows is good, has comic relief, and sometimes has really cool cinematography. The cinematography is amazing in some spots because the movie goes into slow motion.  In an example during 1 scene you see a cannonball hitting wood in slow motion and the individual wood pieces coming off. Which makes for cool  effects. The comic relief is just like the 1st one with banter between Holmes and Watson.  Watson’s dog is the victim of more experiments, to which Watson responds ” How many times are you going to kill my dog?”  Overall, Sherlock Holmes : A Game of Shadows is funny and is a good movie.

Sherlock Holmes : A Game of Shadows is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, and some drug material.  I give Sherlock Holmes : A Game of Shadows gets an A.
