Wicked is about the friendship between the wicked witch of the west and the good witch.
It is great, funny, has very elaborate costumes, great set design, and is an enjoyable Broadway show. Wicked shows an alternate side of the Wizard of Oz story. It expertly shows the origins of all the characters including the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and the Scarecrow. It is comedic and silly with good humor. The sets are huge,bright,creative and really capture the party feeling.
The costumes are elaborate just like the movie and are great. At the show I attended, the main cast was performing. The singing of all of the actors was great, especially the 2 main characters. The 1st act ends perfectly without a cliffhanger between the 2 acts. The theater and building are decorated like Oz. And the theater room is also decorated. The curtain is a map of Oz and above it is a dragon that breaths smoke to start the show/acts. There are also acrobatic stunts which are performed with great skill. Overall, Wicked is a very enjoyable Broadway musical.
I recommend Wicked to anybody looking for great energetic Broadway musical. I give Wicked a wicked A.
