Mirror Mirror Review

If you like the idea of a  funny Snow White movies then Mirror,Mirror will crack you up. It stars Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen,Lily Collins  (the daughter of pop singer-songwriter Phil Collins)as Snow White, Armie Hammer as Prince Alcott, and Nathan Lane as Brighton, the queen’s servant.

Mirror,Mirror is the classic Snow White story with a different twist . It looks at it with a comedic view mostly from the perspective of the queen.. Not as a dark view ( which Snow White and The Huntsman does) but as a light comedic story. It still includes the 7 dwarves, the prince,  the evil queen and of course, the mirror.  The queen still wants to be the fairest of them all and is until Snow White turns 18.  So she tells her servant to get rid of Snow White and of course, things don’t turn out quite the way the queen wants them to.

Mirror, Mirror is silly and funny with over the top performances by most of the main cast.  It is not at all scary or dark for younger kids, although they will not get some of the humor.  And do not go in expecting the typical Snow White family movie.  I recommend you go (or even better rent since it’s days in theaters will be numbered) when you feel like seeing a light hearted, feel good , romantic comedy.

Mirror Mirror is rated PG for some fantasy action and mild rude humor.  I give Mirror Mirror a reflective B. Note; Snow White and the Huntsman that comes to theaters June 1st will be very different. It  appears to be a very dark, fantasy action movie.
