Wrath of The Titans Review

Posted in On DVD by - April 15, 2012

If you like mythology action movies on an epic scale, then Wrath of the Titans is for you. It stars Sam Worthington as Perseus, Liam Nesson as Zeus, Ralph Finnes as Hades, Rosmund Pike as Andromeda, Bill Nighy as Hephesateus, Edgar Ramirez as Ares and John Bell as Helios.

Wrath of the Titans starts 10 years after the original. Perseus lives peacefully on a small fishing island with his son named Helios. Meanwhile, the gods and titans are fighting because when the humans stopped praying to the gods, they lost their power and the titans started to break free of Tartarus.  Zeus and Poseidon travel to the Underworld to talk to Hades and Ares to try to stop the titans at the source.  Tartarus, Zeus and Poseidon are betrayed and Zeus is captured. Poseidon finds Perseus and tells him of the betrayal. Poseidon dies and Perseus takes action. He leaves the village and goes to find Andromeda and Poseidon’s son to travel to the Underworld and rescue Zeus before Kronos can be reawakened using Zeus’s godly power.

Wrath of the Titans is an epic mythological action movie. The budget has increased in size since the 1st one. It shows in a spectacular fashion. There are many more monsters and even 1 gigantic fire titan. The monster battles are very well done. The CGI on the monsters is well done. For once, the sequel is better then the original.  The fire titan ( Kronos) is huge. The fights/battles/war scenes are much better and well done then the original. Overall, Wrath of the Titans greatly improves upon its predecessor.

Wrath of the Titans is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of fantasy violence and action. I give Wrath of the Titans a titanic A.
