The Avengers Review

Posted in On DVD by - May 13, 2012

If you like amazing summer blockbusters then The Avengers is for you. It stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man/Tony Stark, Chris Evans as Captain America/Steve Rogers, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/ The Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/ Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson.

The Avengers is about all of the 4 Marvel superheroes (Iron Man,Captain America, The Hulk, Thor), and 2 Shield Agents ( Black Widow, Hawkeye), teaming up to fight Loki, Thor’s evil brother. He brings an alien race to attack New York City and the Avengers must fight to stop him.

The Avengers is an amazing summer blockbuster. The action is spectacular and huge. It has more action then all the previous Marvel movies combined. New York City gets spectaculary destroyed. The CGI on the alien foot soilders and robots is very well done as well.  There  are  thousands of the aliens on screen at once. Most of the action scenes have more action than all the other Marvel movies. There is also plenty of comic relief. Iron Man has his usual banter. He jokes around with all the other Avengers. The Hulk actually has part of the comic relief too. The new actor Mark Ruffalo who plays Bruce Banner does it the best out of all of the 3 recent Hulks. The Bruce Banner side of the Hulk is also part of the comic relief. The Hulk in green hulk’ed out form provides some great physical comedy moments. The whole movie is spectacular. All the parts come together into a whole. Overall, The Avengers is an amazing start to the 2012 Summer Movie Season.

The Avengers is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action throughout, and a mild drug reference. I give The Avengers an Avenging A+!
