If you like hardcore fantasy action movies then Snow White and the Huntsman is for you. It stars Kristen Stewart (Twilight) as Snow White, Charlize Theron as Queen Ravenna, and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) as the Huntsman.
Snow White and the Huntsman is a new take on the Snow White story. This version of the story has Queen Ravenna killing Snow White’s father. She locks Snow White up for a long time. Meanwhile, Ravenna is sucking out the souls of the young woman in the town to stay young forever. Snow White eventually escapes and must lead an army to destroy the evil queen.
Snow White and the Huntsman is darker with more intense action and evil magic than other kid versions of the story. It is an epic tale of good vs. evil. This is not a kids movie. There is lots of action and some graphic images.
It is worth noting that this is the director’s first full length film. What a debut ! The action is great,wide scale and epic. There is a sweeping beach scene and the cinematography is amazing. Charlize Theron is excellent as the evil queen. She plays it wonderfully and is very evil. She was perfectly cast. All the action is intense. Snow White and the Huntsman is an amazing adaptation of the classic story. Overall, Snow White and the Huntsman is an exciting, more adult version of the Snow White story.
Sn0w White and the Huntsman is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, and brief sensuality. I give Snow White and the Huntsman an A.
