Total Recall Review

If you like action packed  sci-fi movies then Total Recall is for you. It stars Colin Farrel as Douglas Quaid, Kate Beckinasale and Jessica Beil.

Total Recall starts when  Douglas , who is bored of his everyday life, goes after work to a place called Rekall. Rekall is a place that inserts a memory of your choice into your brain. Douglas selects a spy based memory. Then something happens. The procedure goes wrong and police storm in. Douglas kills them all and heads home shocked. His wife comforts him, then attacks him. He runs and is chased by his wife until he is on a freeway. There he runs into a woman that has been in a dream he has repeatably dreamed. He leaves with her. As 2 groups want Douglas, he must figure who is he and which side of the civil war he is really on.

Total Recall has lots of action and chasing. The sequences are well done and most do not linger on too long like a lot of action movies. It varies because the action is driven by the plot. It is broken up well with an action scene then a new layer of the plot is revealed.Colin Farrel potrays a man who is losing his mind and then trying to regain it well. There are also many special effects. The biggest is the giant machine called The Fall. It transports workers from the colony to their work by going through the core of the earth. It is a very cool machine.

Overall, Total Recall is a good,  plot driven action film. Warning : There is very brief nudity. There is a 3 breasted alien that briefly shows her breasts. It is very quick but is full. Total Recall is rated PG-13 for  intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, some sexual content, brief nudity, and language.
