Trouble with the Curve Review

Posted in On DVD by - December 09, 2012

If you like sports movies with family drama, then Trouble with the Curve is for you. It stars Clint Eastwood as Gus, Amy Adams as Mickey, Justin Timberlake as Johnny, and John Goodman as Pete Kilne.

Trouble With the Curve starts when Gus is sent out to scout for the Atlanta Braves. His eyesight is poor, so Pete calls his daughter Mickey to be his eyes. They bond and Johnny comes into the picture.

Trouble with the Curve is 2 different movies. It is a baseball movie and a father-daughter dramedy. On the baseball side, it is almost like the anti-Moneyball. This movies emphasizes scouting while Moneyball is about finding a player using statistics.  They are both good movies. The other side, the father-daughter dramedy,  is the better side of the movie. Eastwood and Adams have chemistry and both are believable as father-daughter. Clint Eastwood is as good as you would expect in his big screen return. Amy Adams is also good and their personalities mix well for chemistry. Justin Timberlake comes in later and is good and he and Adams are believable. Overall, Trouble With the Curve is a good father-daughter bonding movie with sports at the reason they connect

Trouble with the Curve is rated PG-13 for language, sexual references, some thematic material and smoking.
