The Angel’s Share Review

AngelsShare_PIf you like a funny comedy and do not mind constant strong language and dark parts, then The Angles’s Share is for you. It stars Paul Brannigan as Robbie, John Henshaw as Harry, Jasmin Riggins as Moe, William Ruane as Rhino, and Roger Allan as Thaddeus.

The Angel’s Share starts when Robbie is sentenced to 300 hours of community service. He is also a new father who has to provide for his kid and wife while dealing with her brother and his gang. When he goes to start his community service, he meets a group of people and they quickly become friends. On Harry’s ( the supervisor) day off, he takes them to a distillery. Robbie has an unknown talent for detecting smells.  So the supervisor offers to take him to a tasting, and eventually they all end up going. While there, they learn of a whiskey selling that is expected to sell for millions and meets a collector. Robbie and his friends then plan to go, steal the whiskey and get rich so Robbie will be able to support his family.

The Angels’ Share is a funny comedy but has constant strong language and it is dark in the beginning, besides the opening scene. That lasts for about 15 minuets until Robbie starts doing more things with his group. After that, it becomes a funny comedy. The group is made of up people all with their individual personalities and their interactions are comical . Later in the movie, it becomes a crime comedy. They are very inexperienced and watching them try to pull it off is funny as they attempt to first get to the selling and then attempt the robbery. There is a lot of consistent. foul language so younger audiences should not go to this. It is a adult movie. Overall, The Angel’s Share is an occasionally depressing but otherwise funny comedy.

The Angel’s Share is not rated by the MPAA. In Britain it got a 15. That is accurate with the constant strong language, drinking, and occasional violence. I give The Angel’s Share an evaporating B.
