PJ-SOM-ONLINE-FINAL-2-jpg_155521If you like fun movies and don’t mind it being different from the book then Percy Jackson : Sea of Monsters is for you. It stars Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson, Stanley Tucci as Dinoysus and Nathan Fillion as Hermes.

Percy Jackson : Sea of Monsters starts with a flashback of Luke,Annabeth, Talia, and Grover heading into Camp Half – Blood . A monster attacks outside the camp and Talia sacrifices herself to protect the others so Zeus creates a barrier around her. Cut to present day where a mechanical bull eventually crashes through the barrier with the help of Luke. Now Percy and his friends have to go on a quest to get the Golden Fleece back to heal Talia and protect the camp once again.

Percy Jackson : Sea of Monsters is a very good, fun movie. It is very different from the book and if you are a hardcore fan of the books then you will not like the way the movie’s plot progresses and the various characters and their interactions unfold.

The movie has a good pace and consistent comedy with plenty to laugh at. There are also some very funny cameos by older actors. The movie also has a brisk pace that keeps everything going. There are some subtle and not so sutble references to other movies and other franchises including but not limited to Star Wars and Harry Potter. Overall, Percy Jackson : Sea of Monsters is a very good fun movie.

Percy Jackson : Sea of Monsters is rated PG. I give Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters a monstorous B+.
