If you like comedies then Hot Fuzz is for you. It stars Simon Pegg as Sgt. Nicholas Angel and Nick Frost as Danny Butterman.
Hot Fuzz is about Sgt. Angel, who is London’s top cop. One day his commanding officer reassigns him to Sanford, which is the safest town in England. He meets up his with partner Danny and deals with minor crimes until murders occur and the police force investigates.
Hot Fuzz is a hysterical comedy. It works as a buddy cop comedy and as a satire of action/cop movies. The script is great with clever and hilarious jokes making fun of and refrerencing 90’s action movie and cop movies. Without spoiling the end, the climatic shootout is hilarious and awesome, parodying many 90’s climatic shootouts.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost work so well with Pegg as the straight man and Frost delivering the comedy. The roles work for them as they are great in the movie and are even better together. The rest of the cast is very funny as well. And combining the cast and the script make for one great comedy. Overall, Hot Fuzz is a hysterical comedy.
Hot Fuzz is rated R for violent content including some graphic images, and language. That is accurate. I give Hot Fuzz a warm A+.
