If you like superhero movies then Thor : The Dark World is for you. It stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane, Christopher Eccelston as Malkieth, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Kat Dennigs as Darcy and Stellan Skasgard as Erig Selvig.
Thor : The Dark World is about the evil dark elves, led by Malkeith, who have returned from their defeat by the Asgardians. They return seeking a relic that is discovered by Jane while looking for Thor. Thor and his friends have to save the 9 realms.
Thor : The Dark World is a great sequel. It’s very funny,well acted and has great action.
Another thing that really works is the massive improvement of CGI. In the last movie, Asgard visually looked okay. In this one, Asgard looks fantastic with huge buildings and the new bridge is spectaular. The rest of the visuals are excellent as well, from the elven ships to the action CGI. Another cool visual is the color of portals. It is a subtle nod to the popular 2007 video game Portal.
Something that also works is the humor. The movie is very funny throughout with a constant stream of jokes similar to the other Marvel movies. The action is great as well. It’s a lot of fun to watch the action whether on Asgard, Earth, or any of the 9 realms. It’s well directed and the finale is epic and inventive.
The performances are good too. Hemsworth is great as Thor, Hiddleston owns Loki, and the rest of the cast is good as well. Overall, Thor : The Dark World is a great very funny well acted sequel with great action.
Thor : The Dark World is rated PG-13 for sequences of intense sci-fi action and violence, and some suggestive content. I give Thor : The Dark World a worldly B+.
