If you like a great survival drama then Life of Pi is for you. It stars Suraj Sharama as Pi Patel, Irrfan Khan as Adult Pi Patel and Rafe Spall as Writer
Life of Pi starts when Pi and his family are going to leave India for Canada. Their ship runs into rough water and sinks. Pi gets out and so do some animals from the zoo. Eventually the tiger only remains. They must survive each other and find land and civilization to be rescued.
Life of Pi is a great survival drama with spectacular effects and cinematography. The effects are all remarkable. The tiger ( Richard Parker) is digital some parts and a real tiger some parts. The difference is very tiny and hard to see. There are also several sequences that are very well done in terms of effects. The cinematography is also great. There are wide shots that truly capture the huge scale of the ocean that Pi and Richard Parker are stuck in. There is also 1 shot where Pi is underwater and looking at the Tsimtsum. That shot alone is amazing and one of the best effects in the movie. There is a power struggle between Pi and Richard Parker. They must learn to live with each other and survive. Their power struggle for food and territory is one of the central struggles of the movie. This is also based off the book Life of Pi. The book was considered unfilmable. The writer and director did not think that and made this movie. It is a good thing they did because this is a great movie. Overall, Life of Pi is a great survival drama with amazing cinematography and effects.
Life of Pi is rated PG for emotional thematic content throughout, and some scary action sequences and peril. I give Life of Pi a A !
