The Last Stand Review

The Last StandIf you like fun campy action movies then The Last Stand is for you. It stars Arnold Schwazengger as Ray Owens,Forest Whitaker as Agent John Bannister, Peter Stromare as Burrell, and Johnny Knoxville as Lewis Dinkum

The Last Stand starts when the henchmen of a huge mob boss enter Owen’s town. Owens is unaware and goes along normal with his day. Then the henchmen murders a farmer and Owen’s force heads over there to investigate while the mob boss breaks out of prison on his transport. There is also a bridge being built in Owen’s town and one of Owen’s force is killed fighting. The criminal along with his hostage in an insanely fast awesome car then head to Ray’s town to cross the border into Mexico and Ray and his force must stop the criminal and save the day with their town being the last stand.

The Last Stand is a fun campy action movie. Sure it’s predictable and cliche but it’s most likely supposed to be campy. It’s a return to the 80’s action movie. The whole movie is very much that way with the dialouge and action along with the general plot that you can see the plot points and supposed twists far away.

The action is spread peroidically throughout the movie but when it happens, Arnold is back. There are guns firing, one liners, and other things you would expect from a good action movie.

The movie is also fun with comedy moments including some jokes made about Arnold’s age and how he is getting too old for this stuff. Overall, The Last Stand is a fun campy action movie.

The Last Stand is rated R for strong bloody violence throughout, and language. That is accurate with blood coming out when one of the many kills happens. I give The Last Stand a standing B+.
