The Heat Review

The Heat 1If you like hilarious comedies then The Heat is for you. It stars Sandra Bullock as Sarah Ashburn, Melissa McCarthy as Shannon Mullins and Demian Bechir as Levy.

The Heat starts mid mission for FBI agent Sarah Ashburn. She is the best on their squad but none of the other members like her. After she busts another group of drug/weapons dealers, she heads home. When checking her email, she finds out that her boss is moving out of their office and there is an opening. She goes to try to convince him to give her the promotion. Her boss tells her that if she can go to Boston following a fence’s drug gang information, and successfully work with a partner she could get the promotion. She goes there and is partnered up with her exact opposite, Detective Mullin. They have to team up and take down the drug ring.

The Heat is a hilarious comedy. It takes the classic buddy cop comedy with the straight laced cop and the off the books cop and makes the leads women. This new take works as The Heat is consistent laugh out loud funny. The chemistry between Bullock and McCarthy is very funny and they work well very well together, making several already funny scenes funnier with their chemistry. Overall, The Heat is a hilarious comedy with two leads with great chemistry.

The Heat is rated R for pervasive language, strong crude content and some violence. That is accuarate as this is a crude comedy. I give The Heat a double B+.
